My Magical Disney Moment
Sorcerer Mickey has always been my favorite Disney character. I couldn’t even tell you why but for as long as I can remember I have just loved him! I have the cutest picture of me meeting him years back while wearing a personalized shirt that had Sorcerer Mickey on it (and under it said “Sorcerer Jenny” … no big deal), my Sorcerer hat, and carrying my Sorcerer Mickey doll. I wish I could find it… I know I have it somewhere! Anywho, this year I went to Disney with my parents and my cousin/best friend and of course I had to see my fav character! After a delish meal at Mama Melrose, it began to downpour (lightning and all, yikes!) so it was the perfect time to go see if Mickey was around! My cousin and I ran across Hollywood Studios, but certainly did not make it through dry! Regardless, we shamelessly waited (being the oldest kids in line) a good twenty minutes for Sorcerer Mickey. No worries though, I always make the time pass by chatting with adults who are clearly Disney newbies (I am a Disney know-it-all and can pick them out a mile away :P) to share tips and advice. After anxiously waiting, it was finally my turn to meet Mickey, que my inner five year old! My cousin took my Iphone to take a picture when Sorcerer Mickey started to have a fit! It was one of those moments I wish characters could talk! He was pointing at my phone and jumping up and down and I was so confused! That was up until I realized he was admiring my Sorcerer Mickey phone case (a tough case to have as a junior in high school, I get ridiculed quite often for it. But I’m a proud Disney nerd so it does not phase me!). Mickey was overwhelmingly impressed with my case and would not stop hugging me! We had a whole conversation (him acting out what he wanted to say) and I was beaming with excitment. I have had a lot of magical character experiences in my life, but this one really touched me. My love for Sorcerer Mickey was finally being recognized by the mouse himself! I did not stop smiling for probably ten minutes, I think I was shaking too! It’s moments like those that make me truly believe that I will never be too old for Disney magic.
A Disney photographer captured this beauty of a picture. It still makes me smile! My cousin is on the far left, I am the one in the middle awkwardly clapping my hands (notice my messy hair from the rain, lol), and there’s Mickey on the right holding my phone!
